Martha Harnly, MPH

Martha Harnly has worked within public health for more than 30 years and holds a Masters of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.  She is currently a Research Scientist Supervisor. In this capacity, she designs and conducts environmental epidemiological studies  including studies of dioxin contamination, pesticide use and drift, biological monitoring studies, and studies of the health consequences of heat waves.  Ms. Harnly is interested in disseminating the public health policy implications of scientific findings. To further this interest, she has authored or co-authored over 25 journal articles, developed fact sheets for the public, and serves on several interagency environmental health workgroups.
