Chemical Terrorism

During 2003 and 2004 a work group of state and federal toxicologists developed a table of contents for chemical terrorism fact sheets suitable for first responders, local health departments, medical providers and the general public. They also identifed reference sources which would be useful for obtaining the information for such content items as chemical properties, environmental fate and transfer, toxicity etc. The drafts were discussed at a CDC workshop in February of 2004 and finalized in July of 2004. They are posted on this Internet site to assist public health agencies who find that they must develop a fact sheet for an agent that has not already been appropriately described. Additional information can be viewed on the related topic, Biological Terrorism.
